Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, I didn't spend that much time in Kathmandu. I spent the first day recovering from jetlag and then the next 2 days arranging things for my trek. The city itself has so much pollution that it's literally hard to breathe. You see many people walking around wearing medical face masks to help them cope with the pollution.. In Thamel (the tourist area) you get hounded by all sorts of blokes either asking you to buy something or begging for money. It gets old really fast, but I've been told it's nothing compared to India. I heard that if you leave Kathmandu and travel to some of the surrounding areas that it's much better, like Baktapur. I'll try to do this on my next trip back, whenever that may be. I hardly took any pictures in the city, but here are two of the more interesting ones.

I can't even comment on this picture, it just amazes me.

Here's one of the intersections in the city. It's complete madness.
